Once I got them set I returned to the pits and tightened everything up. I left them loose enough that I could fine tune the set up. I snugged up the bolts and went out for a ride. I initially set the light up in my garage to get the initial setup close. Both lateral and vertical adjustments are very easy to make with an open end wrench and an allen key. I completed the wiring and switch install in about 25 minutes. I'd also like to comment on the set up and adjustability of these lights. They also weigh the least! At only 5.5 lbs (yes I weighed them) I hardly noticed they were there and my suspension adjustment was very minor from the initial set up that I started with. I can honestly say that the extreme light from Cyclops is the brightest light with the longest throw of any of the lights I have tried. Baja Designs 8" HID, Trail Tech Halogen and HID 8", and some custom built lights (dual 8" HID) for racing Baja. I have run many different lighting combinations over the years. There were a couple of sections on this course that I was able to hit 6th gear on my KTM 525 that put me at speeds over 90MPH. I felt very comfortable running "race pace" with this lighting combination and never "out ran" my lights. Some of this came from the increasing familiaity of the course but the majority was due to the awesome lighting that I was running. These times were slightly faster than that of my lone day lap that I completed. In previous years my lap time would increase by 2-3 minutes per lap. I consistently turned in laps of 48-49 minutes. There are many, many turns at Starvation ridge and this combination worked the best. If you have done much racing / riding at night you know that this is an area that any mounted light struggles with. I did run a Cyclops HID helmet light in conjunction with the extreme light so I could look ahead and light up the inside lines of sharp corners. The light performed as expected and was clearly the brightest light at the event. I ended up riding 4 laps for our team and 3 of those 20 mile laps were in the dark. I purchased one of these Cyclops Extreme lights last month just in time to race in the open expert class at the 24 hours of starvation ridge in Goldendale, Washington.
